JAPANESE HEAD SPA
What is the Japanese Head Spa?

The Japanese Head Spa comes under the wellness-oriented category and is based on Ayurvedic Head Massage, a 3000 year old treatment that dates to India's Vedic history. Ayurvedic medicine is a branch of Ayurveda (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge) medicine, which is one of the world's oldest holistic treatments for the entire body. With its origin in Ayurveda, an ancient Indian health system, a cleansing and balancing effect on the scalp is achieved, on top of having a repairing effect on damaged hair. For relaxation, this method has been further developed in Japan into the Head Spa treatment. It is a specialised technique that involves gentle kneading, pressure points, and soothing strokes on the scalp. Authentic Japanese scalp massage is rooted in the belief that a healthy scalp is a foundation for beautiful and lustrous hair. One of the key benefits it’s the ability to increase blood circulation to the scalp. Japanese head spa focuses on improving overall scalp health. Beyond the physiological benefits, a scalp massage offers relaxation and stress relief.

FAQ's

Is the head spa suitable if I suffer from hair loss?
The head spa is highly beneficial for individuals experiencing hair loss. The combination of scalp massage and deep cleansing enhances blood circulation, which nourishes the hair follicles and promotes healthier, thicker, and stronger hair growth.

Is it suitable for all hair types?
Yes, Japanese head spa treatments are suitable for all hair types and scalp conditions. During the session, our primary focus will be on the scalp. We kindly ask that you ensure we have clear access to your scalp for the treatment. Unfortunately, we are unable to perform services on customers with extensions, braids, or sew-ins, as these styles prevent proper access to the scalp and pores.

Are head spa treatments safe for individuals with sensitive skin or scalp conditions?
Yes, our head spa treatment has carefully been designed to be gentle yet effective, making them suitable for all skin types, including sensitive scalps. Each treatment is personalised to address your specific concerns, whether it's dryness, oiliness, dandruff, or general scalp discomfort.

Will the head spa affect hair colouring or keratin treatments?
All of our ingredients are safe for treated hair. However, if you’ve undergone any chemical services within a week prior to your head spa appointment, there is a possibility that the clarifying process could affect the colour or keratin treatment. To avoid this, we recommend waiting at least a week after any chemical hair treatment before scheduling a head spa. Similarly, we advise waiting at least a week after a head spa session before undergoing any chemical treatments to ensure that chemicals are not applied to a freshly treated scalp.

Can I get a head spa treatment if I have extensions?
Extensions are not suitable for a head spa treatment, as full access to your scalp is essential. Additionally, the oils and masks used during the treatment can loosen tape bonds. For the best experience, we recommend scheduling your head spa between the removal and reapplication of extensions.

Can I still have a head spa if I don’t have any scalp issues?
Absolutely! Treat yourself to some well deserved "me-time" and let us pamper you.

Should I come with cleansed hair?
It’s not necessary to arrive with freshly washed hair. As part of our Head Spa experience, we begin with a thorough scalp assessment followed by a gentle, yet effective cleansing and treatment process. You can simply come as you are, and we’ll take care of ensuring your scalp and hair are refreshed, nourished, and rejuvenated.

Can I have a head spa if I have a nut allergy?
Many of our products and oils contain nuts or are produced in facilities where nuts are present. For your safety, we recommend avoiding this treatment if you have a nut allergy.

Can I have the head spa whilst I'm pregnant?
We provide treatment only for individuals who are 12 weeks pregnant or less. It is not recommended for those who are 20 weeks or more due to the potential complications that may arise from lying down for extended periods during the session

Will I leave with wet hair?
All head spa treatments include a basic towel dry. To protect your hair, we recommend avoiding intense heat styling after the treatment. If you have long hair, please bring a clip to tie it up, or consider bringing a hat or scarf for added comfort.

Is your spa hijab friendly?
Yes, our spa is hijab-friendly! We prioritise creating a comfortable and private environment for all our clients. If you have specific requirements, please let us know, and we will ensure your experience is tailored to your needs.
